On Saturday December 9, the legendary Spartacus actor, Kirk Douglas, turned 101. We can’t believe how fast time has passed! It is said that Kirk's 73-year-old son Michael Douglas flew from New York to California especially for his dad’s birthday. His wife Catherine Zeta-Jones along with their son Dylan joined the festivities and paid tribute to Kirk by taking a heartwarming snapshot of their famous relative.

Fact #1: his name isn’t even Kirk! It’s Issur Danielovitch Demsky. He legally changed his name to Kirk Douglas before entering the United States Navy during World War II.
Fact #2: he’s originally from the Republic of Belarus, a country in Eastern Europe located between Russia and Ukraine.
Fact #3: Kirk’s family was very poor, and he saved them from their wretched condition by getting enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His acting career made him rich and famous.
Fact #4: he grew up with 6 sisters: Pesha, Kaleh, Tamara, Rachel and twins Hashka and Siffra.
Fact #5: he debuted on Broadway with the musical “Spring Again” in 1941.
