Beyoncé Pays Tribute to Police Violence Victims
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) was held on Sunday. This event attracts the attention to millions around the world, and our beloved Beyoncé seized the opportunity to pay tribute to the numerous victims of police attacks. The international music sensation invited the mothers of the targeted innocents to walk the red carpet with her.
The mothers of Mike Brown, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Oscar Grant were present according to Fader. Lesley, Sybrina, Wanda and Gwen not only posed with Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy, but they were also featured together in the singer’s visual album, Lemonade.
It's important to mention that several other campaigns against black violence were organized, like the speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
