The almond can blend in with just about anything and is easily integrated into dishes as well as desserts and drinks. It has many benefits and has some interesting nutritional values.
1- In case you are lactose intolerant, almond milk helps to compensate the calcium deficiency.
2- Eat almonds with their skin because they're rich in fiber.
3- Almond oil brings radiance and hydration to the skin.
4- Almond oil can deeply revitalize the hair.
5- Almond oil body scrubs can exfoliate the skin in a natural way.
Apple, honey and almond pie
For 6 to 8 people. Preparation: 40 minutes. Level: easy. Cooking time: 30 minutes.
-Ingredients: 250 g of puff pastry; 8 apples; 80g of butter; 3 tablespoons of honey; 100g of sugar; 125g of slivered almonds.
-Preparation: Preheat oven to 210°C. Garnish a tart pan with the puff pastry. Cut the apples into thin slices and arrange them on the dough. Bake for about 20 minutes. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add honey, sugar and almonds.
Cover the top of the pie with the topping, put back in the oven for about 5 minutes.
-Tip: Replace apples with pears.
Tajine with chicken and almonds
For 6 to 8 people. Preparation: 30 minutes. Level: Easy. Cooking time: 60 minutes.
-Ingredients: 4 whites and 4 chicken legs; 30 prunes, 6 medium onions; 8 tablespoons of olive oil; 10 tablespoons of ground almonds; 2 to 3 pinches of hot pepper and cinnamon. A handful of blanched almonds.
-Preparation: Soak the prunes in tea for 4 to 5 hours. Chop the onions. Heat the oil in a casserole and brown the pieces of chicken. Season with chilli and cinnamon. Drain the chicken and set aside. Place the onions in the pan and let them melt on low heat for 15 minutes. Add salt and pepper. Heat the oven to a thermostat 5. Drain and pit the prunes. Add the almond powder to the casserole and mix gently. In a baking dish, place the chicken and prunes on the onion and almond mixture. Pour half a glass of water, cover and cook for about 60 minutes. Serve hot and decorate with almonds.
-Tip: Add raisins and apple pieces to enrich the filling.
For 6 to 8 people. Preparation: 20 minutes. Level: Easy. Cooking time: 8 to 12 minutes.
-Ingredients: 60g of flour; 1 pinch of bicarbonate; 1 large pinch of cinnamon; 200g of brown sugar.
1 egg. 80g of melted butter; 120g of flaked almonds.
-Preparation: Prepare the dough with all the ingredients mentioned. Separate the dough in half and form rolls about 4cm in diameter. Pack them and let them rest for 4 to 5 hours.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Cut the rolls into thin slices of 2 to 3mm and place them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and keep a space between each roll.
Bake at 175 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
-Tip: add Cranberry seeds to consume at tea time or with coffee, as a treat.
