Young Michelle Hajal, third runner-up in the 2016 Miss Lebanon pageant, died after a long battle with cancer. Her sister, Paula, revealed the sad news through her Facebook account by posting a picture of Michele and a heart-breaking message in Arabic, "May you always laugh from above, you’re lucky, Lord you’re lucky to have her but you took her way too soon.” The 25-year-old fiercely fought Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) for over a year, and received a huge support from Lebanese people in 2018, through the campaign  #FightWithMichele which gathered the sum of $750,000 that allowed her to undergo a treatment in Houston. Unfortunately, the disease came back stronger, and Michele lost the battle she relentlessly fought this Monday. She died at Rizk hospital after a call launched in the morning to donate blood plasma. Her fiancé, Maroun Abi Atmeh, posted a photo with Michele as a story on Instagram, saying: "I won an angel." It is noteworthy that Maroun was a great supporter of his fiancée in all stages of her illness, and the young couple was planning to marry soon.
